04.05.11 Force and Authority Unveil Policing Summaries

Policing Summaries 2011-12

People in the Cleveland Police area are set to see their Local Policing Summaries delivered through their doors over the next two weeks.

The summaries are specific to sector areas across the Force, and give details of performance, who is in your local Neighbourhood Policing Team and how to contact them, as well as news from Cleveland Police Authority. The summaries also outline the Putting People First Commitment, which is what people can expect from the Force as well as why people can be confident in the service delivered.

Chief Constable of Cleveland Police Sean Price said: “It’s really important to us to keep people informed about how we are doing as well as providing details of who they can contact if they have any concerns.

“Our Putting People First Commitment means just that – we wanted to set out a standard of service that communities can expect from us, and while we face significant financial challenges, we are fully committed to maintaining that level of service.

“We have a lot to be proud of – the recent success in winning the Emergency Services Force of the Year Award, our excellent reductions in crime and high levels of public confidence. It’s down to the hard work of our officers, staff and staff who are working for our partners, who are all working closely with our local communities.

“I would however say that we are in no way complacent about this success, and we are determined to continue Putting People First and protect our frontline services, despite the huge challenges ahead.”

Chair of the Police Authority, Cllr Dave McLuckie, said the policing summaries were another way of further improving the service offered: “We are always looking for ways to enhance our procedures to improve interaction with members of the public. This isn’t just an exercise in blowing our own trumpet, it will enable everyone to find out more about what we do and how we do it and who to contact to express their concerns or find out more. It will also provide the Police Authority with another way to keep everyone informed of the work we do.”
