Have you received outstanding service from your local Neighbourhood Policing Team? If so, Cleveland Police and Cleveland Police Authority want to hear from you.
We are looking to recognise police officers, staff and volunteers who have gone the extra mile and provided outstanding service to their community. A special Neighbourhood Policing Awards ceremony will be held over the summer to celebrate the successes.
The categories for the awards are:
- Neighbourhood Police Officer of the Year
- Neighbourhood Police Community Support Officer of the Year
- Neighbourhood Special Constable of the Year
- Neighbourhood Volunteer of the Year
- Neighbourhood Team of the Year
Chief Constable of Cleveland Police Sean Price said: “Neighbourhood Policing is about Putting People First and we want to recognise our officers, staff and volunteers who have made a real difference to people’s lives. We are looking for nominees who have worked together with their local communities to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and who have some real success stories. Our most recent crime figures show that there were over 14% fewer crimes compared to this time last year and that together with high levels of public confidence is down to the hard work and dedication of all our officers, staff and volunteers. I’m delighted to be able to recognise those efforts through these awards.”
Added Cleveland Police Authority Chair, Councillor Dave McLuckie: “We know from all the feedback we receive just how much people value their Neighbourhood policing teams and their commitment to work hand-in-hand with local communities to tackle the issues which affect their areas. The launch of the awards scheme is an opportunity for strengthening those links and demonstrating what a difference the efforts of officers, community support officers and volunteers can make in improving the quality of people’s lives—and hopefully helping to improve public confidence even further.”
To put in a nomination for any of the above categories, you can write to Cleveland Police Authority, Freepost NEA 3893, Middlesbrough, TS8 9BR, stating your name and contact details, the name of the person or team you are nominating and your reason for nomination.
